ALL HANDS ON DECK for Manchester’s new regular open-deck party, to allow women and non-binary to try their hands at DJing out in a low-pressure, all welcoming, and inclusive environment.
If you’re a beginner DJ, or perhaps someone who has been spinning for a while but not really had much practice playing outside of their house, then this is the party for you.
We are taking over Partisan upstairs space and allocating 30 or 45 min slots in advance for as many people as we can fit, so get in touch if you’d like to play. No genre discrimination here, as ALL judgements and prejudices left firmly at the door.
The party is of course open to everyone to support by attending ❤ This is a proper celebration, so expect the vibe to match. THE opportunity for you to show your support through the medium of dance.
£3 suggested donation is to cover costs and to raise money for Partisan Collective — to stay open, become accessible and to keep supporting the social justice organisations that call it home.
This is also in association with MANCHESTER SOUND WOMEN NETWORK, a new platform in Manchester aiming to facilitate, promote and encourage all women and non-binary to engage with sound it all its creative diversity.
PARTISAN ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Regrettably, Partisan is not yet wheelchair accessible. However, we are working closely with the council and our architect to make this Grade 2 Listed building accessible to all. Partisan is located across 2 floors of a 3-story building. The basement has 11 steps from street level, without a handrail. The first floor has 22 steps from street level, with a handrail. There are 40 steps between the two floors. All toilets are gender-neutral and are located on both levels of the venue. On the first floor, these are single contained stalls. In the basement, there are stalls and urinals.
Seating is available on each floor at all events. For performances, a seated viewing area will be available.
Assistance dogs are allowed at all times. Other well behaved dogs are usually welcome, with the exception of in performance rooms of loud music events. If you have a dog allergy/phobia let us know – we’ll do what we can.
For ticketed events, paying disabled people are eligible to a free additional ticket for a PA to accompany them.
Partisan aims to be a safer space. As such, harmful and discriminatory behaviour is not tolerated. As a cooperative, Partisan is democratically owned by its members, and is shaped by everybody through what we say and what we do. If you are challenged or feel threatened, speak to someone wearing a Partisan badge; they are there to help.
