Gurt and Pist play Rebellion Manchester as part of their Weekender tour. Support from Wolfbastard + 1 more tba.
GURT take the blues and groove of 70s rock and drag it backwards through the swamps of Louisiana. The drums are thunderous, the vocals demonic and the guitars down-tuned, down-tempo and down-right sexy. This is not doom, this is not sludge, THIS IS GURT.
Since their creation in January 2010 GURT have released 2 LPs, 5 EPs, 3 splits (With Dopefight, LIMB & Trippy Wicked) 2 Christmas Singles and a number of sludgy covers.
Relentless touring across the UK and Europe has seen GURT perform with some truly great bands. Highlights include a 23 day European tour with Canadian sludge legends Dopethrone, a 7 day Euro tour with our bros in Diesel King, a 10 day UK tour with our BFFs Bong Cauldron and Pist, supporting Weedeater in Paris, The Sword in Salzburg, Red Fang at the Black Heart and Black Tusk in Paris, as well as performing to packed out audiences at Desertfest 2013 & 2016, opening the 2nd stage at Bloodstock 2014 and triumphantly returning to Bloodstock for another 2nd stage appearance in 2017, playing the main stage of Stonerhead Festival in Salzburg and also laying waste to Hammerfest in North Wales, In Flammen in Germany, FOAD fest in Manchester, Massafest in Holland and Riff Fest in Bolton.
PIST is a riff juggernaut from Bury, Lancashire. Formed in late 2013 the quartet have since released an EP and album chock-full of NOLA-influenced, Southern-tinged heavy rock whilst traveling the UK playing gigs and festivals and drinking beer.
Both long out of print on CD, APF Records is delighted to announce the re-release of PIST's 2014’s “Riffology” EP and 2015’s “Rhythm & Booze” album on one disc under the title “68 OFO” with new artwork by Dominic Sohor. The release is named after a drinking story: when on tour with BongCauldron in 2015 the combined 7 band members drank 68 beers on the short journey between two of their shows. 68 or fuck off!
D-beat black metal tossers from Manchester. Formed in 2012. Raping ears ever since. Taking inspiration from Discharge, Darkthrone and Tsjuder, this four piece take black metal, add in some punk/crust and the final outcome is hate-filled and vitriolic black metal that has a compelling catchiness. The quartet will be launching their new album «Graveyard Sessions» at this show — it's released on 13th July via UKEM Records.
