Mirabel Studios, 14/20 Mirabel Street, M3 1PJ Manchester, United Kingdom
Join us for an exhibition to mark two years of SLOE Gallery, in what will be our final show at Mirabel Studios before passing on the space to a new group of young artists.
We are excited to present the work of a selection of artists who have been a part of our history, as well as some new faces too.
There will be drinks available as well as prints and crafts from our exhibiting artists (cash only). We hope to see you there!
Two years ago, we had the immense pleasure of joining the community of Mirabel Studios- turning a disused basement space into an artist-led gallery with the aim of showcasing the work of emerging and early-career artists in the North West and beyond.
Since our launch in August 2016, SLOE Gallery has presented 6 solo and 9 group exhibitions and featured the work of 61 artists from across the North, the UK and Europe- including painting, drawing, illustration, photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation, performance, sound and video art. It has been such a privilege to share the diverse work of so many talented artists, and to work with inspiring collaborators and guest curators.
After two fantastic years at Mirabel Studios, we have decided the time has come to pass on the space to a new group of young artists, to make the space their own and to experience developing a new gallery. We can’t wait to see how the space evolves and we look forward to visiting their exhibitions!
We are so grateful for all the support we've had throughout our time at Mirabel Studios- in particular to Richard and Jack from PS Mirabel; to all the amazing artists and curators we have worked with; to our original co-founders David, Eade and Hannah; to the wider community of Mirabel Studios for welcoming us; and to all of you for coming to our openings and supporting our artists and our exhibitions.
We hope to take the SLOE Gallery project forward in new and exciting ways in the future, so do keep an eye out for any updates. For now we'd just like to thank you all sincerely for your support- it has been a blast!
All the best,
Robin Sukatorn and Amy Mizrahi
Co-Directors, SLOE Gallery.
