From Trump to Tommy Robinson we are experiencing the biggest rise in support for Islamophobia, antisemitism and racism since the 1930s. In Britain fascists and racists are mobilising on a scale not seen for decades. We must unite against this threat.
Racism is felt particularly sharply in our educational institutions. Far right groups like generation identity are trying to build on university campuses, with pseudoscientific arguments around “culture” and “identity.” Muslim students are targeted by prevent, BAME students and lecturers face institutional racism and EU nationals are having their right to work and student used as a bargaining chip over Brexit.
This meeting hosted by Student Stand Up To Racism and University College Union activists will be discussing how we can organise against the far right.
