Qwerk's annual event is back in January 2019 with Jon Pleased Wimmin. It's so good that we think the month should be renamed Jonuary!!!
Jon guests all over Europe playing current and classic sets and has played alongside the cream of the DJ world including Pete Tong, 2ManyDj’s, Jacques Lu Cont, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Carl Cox, Andrew Weatherall, Boy George, Sister Bliss and Erol Alkan to name a few. He has also been writing, producing. In 2012 he released three of his own tracks ‘Oh Yeah’ ‘Guiltless’ & ‘Disconnected’ via the label Planet Acetate, He. also he released two other singles, Don’t Be Scared (Of Yourself) was released in 2015 on Kidology and Heels was released in 2016 on Fetch recordings. These are all available online at Itunes & Beatport and Amazon.
He has also remixed the singles ‘Never Enough’ by Visage in 2014, Til I’m Done by Paloma Faith in January 2018 and a remix of A Man Could Get Lost by Soft Cell. This was released to coincide with their one-off gig on September 30th 2018 at the O2 in London. Jon was the after-party DJ for this gig alongside his friend Hifi Sean.
There are some very exciting big name remixes coming up later this year.
Jon’s current sets will be likely to feature tracks from artists and remixers as diverse as Purple Disco Machine, Hoxton Whores, Late Night Tough Guy, Soulwax, Lifelike, Todd Terje and Dimitri From Paris to name a few. An eclectic mix for the discerning clubber as ever.
Jon has two residencies in Edinburgh at his own nights Automatic and the weekly knees –up that is The Church of High Kicks. He also carries on his Dare! brand with regular nights in Dundee.
His eclectic taste and encyclopaedic knowledge of pop and dance music make him the perfect candidate for any party that needs an injection of oomph.
